Daddy’s Girl by Sherry

August is a great month to use the colors green and purple. I chose these colors for my “Daddy’s Girl” layout. Alexis is so excited when her daddy comes home because he takes his hat off and she picks it right up and puts it on her head. She loves her daddy so much. I used my Lucky 8 Ivy Punch for the boarder on my green card stock paper. I used a 12×12 sheet of purple card stock for my background. Using Sticky Thumb adhesive to attached the paper together, I proceeded to trim the corners of my largest photo with my corner round punch and my Fiskar Oval cutting system to the smaller photo.

Wanting to add a little more color, I chose a purple flower adding a golden embellishment for the center and a blue butterfly.   Attaching a smaller butterfly to the bottom ties them together.  I journaled this page by using a card with purple on one end and a Spring Green zip writer pen for my entry.

I really wasn’t sure if I would like the purple and green colors together but after doing this layout…I’m a believer that any combination of colors is a go if you use the right accent pieces. Have fun choosing different combinations of colors this month.
