Our theme this month is July 4th, with a blue/white focus. Since I don’t have any July 4th photos I decided that I would do a patriotic layout based on my experience at Arlington National Cemetery last summer. Moments at Arlington is a 2 page layout based on a Allison Davis sketch. I like to ink everything on my layout; embellishments, paper, even the photos. I made the scallop border by using a circle punch and then cutting the circles in half. Some of the stars I made using a punch but for the larger solid stars that I did the stitching on, I used the stars from the reminisce star burst paper as a template.
I then used the cut out stars on a very simple July 4th card that I made. I added some stitching for texture! Scrapping Frenzy has a great selection of Thickers and they have blue sparkly ones that go great on patriotic themed projects!
For the layout:
Scrapping Frenzy Supplies: Papers: Around the Block America, Reminisce Star burst (white scallop boarder) shimmery beige and white cardstock; Inks: archival black; Colorbox-chestnut roan, creamy brown and dark brown; fonts: Cricut-Base Camp
other supplies: DMC white thread; Creative Memories star and circle punch; font: Quikutz
For the Card: left over product from the layout along with some plain red and blue cardstock; colorbox blue ink; blue sparkly letters

i love your scalloped border Laura:) and the fact that your leftovers made a card!!! that’s my kind of scrappin!!!
