Murphy High School Junior Varsity Softball Team by Monica

Hi,

I hope everyone is having a great day so far!  Monica here to share a new layout with you! The mighty Murphy Panther’s JV team! Take a look. These pictures are from last year’s JV team. We are missing some of our girls this year, but this is okay, since they moved up to the Varsity team.  Go Panthers!

This layout showcases how to change a piece of paper that does not match your main page, to one that will, by just using a little bit of ink! You can see in this picture that the lettering is a light shade of blue.  It did not start out like that!  The saying ” Sports do not Build character…They Reveal it.”, is by Teresa Collins.  It is a black and white printed saying outlined in red.  That sheet and my main page really clashed, so after looking at it  a while, I had an idea. I fussy cut the saying out, trimmed off the red boarder, and pulled out some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and some craft paint.

Murphy’s colors are navy blue and yellow.  To incorporate them into the layout I started by painting the word “reveal” with yellow craft paint.  Once that was dry, I covered the bottom of the saying with a scrap piece of paper and misted the top portion with Glimmer Mist – Delphinium.  This a light blue that really mixes well with the blues and grays in the Karen Foster paper that is the main background paper.  There is also some green mixed in, in Karen’s paper, so to pull it out, I moved my scrap paper around and left only the word “it” showing.  I then misted it with Olive Vine. I worked perfect.  To make sure that there was enough yellow on the page, I matted my saying and my photos in a yellow cardstock.  I inked all the edges with a great new product by We R Memory Keepers, called Sweetheart inkers, in brown.

The title, MHS, was cut using the cricket.  I cut it twice to give a shadowing effect.  It shows Murphy’s colors.I added some softball embellishments by Paper House and the school year, and my layout is complete.I am a diehard softball mom and love showing off the girls!

I hope you enjoyed my layout.  Please come see us at Scrapping Frenzy or visit our Facebook page!   And remember, have fun with your scrapping and try something new!  You never know what you can do until you try!
